CityLink Center Development Director

The Development Director is responsible for establishing and executing the strategy for developing and
managing donor relationships to match their investment intent with opportunities at CityLink Center.
Responsibility includes identifying, researching, developing, and maintaining relationships with donors to
fund the operations of CityLink Center, our programs, our partnerships, and amplify our mission.
Donors include private foundations, corporations, individuals, and churches.

In this role, the Director will be a key interface between the CityLink Center and organizations, individuals,
and entities interested in investing in the work of the center. The Director will assist the Executive
Director in setting annual support raising goals and pursue the fulfillment of those goals. The Director will
also work with the leadership of Changing Gears and other partners to support their institutional giving
goals. This role may supervise volunteers, and other resources to help fulfill the goals, including working
alongside the teams focused on fundraising events.

The role will keep the Executive Director and Board of Directors apprised of the activity and outcomes
associated with cultivating and securing funds for the organization.

Mission and Vision Support:
The Development Director directly supports the CityLink collaborative’s vision and mission through
creating a network of supporters that enables the financial sustainability of the center. Through
engagement, we will help to educate, inform, and enlist the support of a broad range of individuals and
entities for a sustainable long-term path for the center and its operations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned as appropriate):

CityLink Donor development:
 Identify potential funding sources (corporate, individual, foundations, churches, other)
 Research funder investment priorities and types of historic giving (frequency, duration, amount)
 Prioritize potential donors and determine the path to engagement (LOI, Grant Application, etc.)
 Facilitate relationships through correspondence, tours, visits, events, meetings, etc.
 Complete required steps for grant application or investment
 Receive determination from potential funder and communicate accordingly
 Record and update all funding decisions, manage compliance for grants received, provide
monthly and annual reports to Executive Director and Board
 Maintain reconciliation between the donor management and accounting records
 Maintain correspondence and engagement with donors
 Support execution of annual individual appeals (2x per year)
 Work closely with the Board to continuously research, cultivate, solicit new sources of revenue

Changing Gears and Additional Program/Partner Institutional Donor Development:
 Identify potential institutional funding sources
 Research funder investment priorities and types of historic giving (frequency, duration, amount)
 Prioritize potential donors and determine path to engagement (LOI, Grant Application, etc.)
 Facilitate relationships through correspondence, tours, visits, events, meetings, etc.
 Complete required steps for grant application or investment

CityLink Center Development Director

Position Qualifications
 Mature in faith and committed to continuous growth
 Strong analytical background, ability to think strategically across multiple priorities
 Self-starter and solution-focused
 High organizational skills and follow-through
 Strong verbal and written communication skills
 Works well with diverse groups of people and able to lead collaboration
 Ability to work through challenging situations
 Possess extremely strong relational skills, able to easily engage with a broad range of individuals
Education and Experience
 Possess a bachelor’s degree in applicable field
 History of creating and executing against a strategy
 Experience developing a pipeline strategy
 Success in designing and implementing campaigns and fundraising initiatives preferred
 Success in mobilizing financial resources, knowledge of local philanthropists and foundation
directors, experience in donor management preferred
Skills
 Proficient in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft suite, SalesForce, WordPress
 Experience in design, implementation, and operation of financial campaigns
 Organization and planning skills
 Grant proposal writing experience preferred but not required
 Ability to create narrative and shape story of our mission and progress

 Ability to work well with a diverse group of staff and volunteers
 Willingness to adjust hours to accommodate the needs of the job

 Ability to inspire and mobilize individuals to carryout initiatives, events, and other engagements
Time Commitments
 Part-Time 24-32 hours /week
 Hours as determined, typically Monday – Friday with some Saturdays, between 8am and 9pm
 Must be available for special events, meetings, and training
